MUSIC - MY TRUE LOVE
Burntface
My father used to say, ሙዚቃ የማይወድና ያልተጠረበ ድንጋይ አንድ ናችው (people who don't appreciate music are similar to a stone that is not carved) - no offense to all of you who are walking around with slanted heads and no MP3 full of Teddy Afro and Mulatu Astatke songs, but you don't know what you missing. Speaking of Teddy Afro.
So, I was walking around the concert hall with my ahem... glass of milk in my hand and I ran into ths little booth set up right next to the 'sound guy' ...yeah right, some sound! They had all kinds of stuff for sale like T-shirts, CD's etc... One of the T-Shirts they had on display caught my eyes, because it showed an image of the African Continet upside down. So, I walked over and asked one of the shop keepers if there was any significance to that and sure enough, it did! To make a short story long or a long story short or a long..never mind. Actually, the explnation one of the young men, who by the way was very polite and very articulate, gave me was very interesting. It made sense too. Maybe it was all that milk I had in my hands, but I ended up purchasing a CD from them and I must say they really are a talented bunch. I listened to the CD without the milk the next day and was still impressed. You be the judge.

Enjoy!
