Fire and Ice

I am not an Armageddonist, far from it. In fact, I consider the whole theory somewhat amusing and kind of funny. But I am sure the Armageddon crowd these days is probably pointing to events around the world, whether natural or man made, trying to promote their agenda and in the process scare people into believing that the end of the world is actually near. For some, events like the recent fires in Southern California, Hurricane Katrina, the record heat around the world, the unusual weather pattern, the war in Iraq, instability in Middle East etc. may indeed push them over the brink and might give the enough reason to accept the Armageddon belief.

Watching the horrible fires here in So California and the other events mentioned above, I could not help be reminded of a poem by Robert Frost, Fire and Ice. Enjoy!

Fire and Ice

Some say the world will end in fire,

Some say in ice.

From what I've tasted of desire

I hold with those who favor fire.

But if it had to perish twice,

I think I know enough of hate

To say that for destruction ice

Is also great

And would suffice.

1 - Chereka,
I enjoyed reading it. Thanks for posting it. Robert Frost is a cool poet. I like his symbolic styles. Is he saying destruction comes from within us, self? For a moment, this's what i got out of it. (Comment this)

2 - Chereka,My mother used to say ‘ሰይጣን የሚደበቀው መቅደስ ውስጥ ነው’ the little I’ve known of the Armageddon crowd the more what she said sounds true.
It’s good to believe in something it provides comfort for the soul but not with the holier than you attitude of some so called Christians.
ጽድቅና ኩነኔ ቢኖርም ባይኖርም
ከክፋት ደግነት ሳይሻል አይቀርም
I can't remember who said that but its one of my favorites. (Comment this)

Yeah! It's a scary thing to watch the whole town burned to ashes.
I believe in all my heart that, the Last day's of the Lord's coming is at hand.

Peace
